About Julius
Dr. Julius Kirimi Sindi is an economist, research-ecosystem strategist and science communicator with more than three decades of experience across sub-Saharan Africa and the United States. He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics from Michigan State University.
Since 2022, at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), he has led and supported work strengthening research institutions, digital knowledge platforms, funding readiness and the journey from evidence to policy and practice. Earlier, as Country Director for the International Potato Center in Rwanda, he connected agricultural research, nutrition, markets and community outcomes.
Across his career, Julius has helped mobilize more than US$100 million for research and development initiatives. Through The Daily Pulse, forthcoming books, speaking and training, he translates complex systems into practical ideas for researchers, leaders and institutions.
