Research assistant needed

Dear Agriculture-Nutrition Community,

A Research Associate (RA) is required to work as part of a team led by a Senior Consultant to gather information and compile reports for specific sections of an Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) of a USAID-funded food security program in Ethiopia. The RA is expected to be familiar with local environmental laws and regulations and be fluent in Amharic. The RA will be recruited in Addis Ababa and should be able to travel to field sites in Amhara and Oromia. Required qualifications include:  

·        At least five years of experience working on environmental management/food security projects in Ethiopia. Direct experience working on USAID programs is preferred.  

·        A graduate degree from a widely recognized institution in a relevant field such as Environmental Law, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture or other natural science subjects. 

·        Experience conducting assessments and supporting implementation, monitoring and reporting of environmental activities on development programs.

·        Strong analytical and communication skills both verbal and written.

·        Must have access and be able to utilize a computer.

·        Fluency in spoken and written English required.

·        Must be available to work on as needed basis from November 10 through December 30.

·        Must be well organized and reliable in meeting deadlines.
